  • Line up starts at 5:30am, doors open at 6am on Sunday mornings- be ready to grease the doorman. Have your "line-by pass card" handy- it will save you some time in the line up too. I never grease doormen, and usually get in (with Line by pass) by 6:15 to 6:30am.

Inside, you will find a low ceiling basement, lit only by black lighting. This is no fashion show. This is NOT for the faint of heart. Music is loud, and sounds great. The crowds are awesome. Have spoken extensively with most bouncers who can attest to this- Most calls for bouncers are for sick patrons.

DJ Addy starts it up and does he ever- His intense mix of house rythms with middle eastern flavours truly make him stand out. Deko-ze is a regular DJ, another legendary talent specializing in Tribal house. The DJ list is varied, and always great.

With VIP access, you are allowed into a small corner area, and also behind the DJ tables. To watch a DJ energize a crowd from this angle is very exciting. This brings me back to the old days of house parties, when you could surround a DJ and watch him/her GO.

There is a small area in-between the 2 bars that is mostly filled with gay men. They are friendly, and I haven't had any problems with any aggressive guys. A spice added to the mix, as I see it.

The larger dance floor area is usually well stocked with fun loving and sociable females and straight males. The club does get warm and humid-especially on special events (Halloween, New Years day). Hope you aren't bothered by sweaty bodies in tight spaces; if so, a small corridor leads to a stairwell and up to an outside covered smoking area. This is the well known outdoor chill out area @ Zone. A staircase leads from the outdoor smoking area to another establishment called "The Silver Dollar". Comfort Zone is not a licensed establishment. The Silver Dollar opens at 11 am Sunday morning and serves liquor all day.

Back inside, to the rear of the club, is a large area with chairs and couches to relax (Indoor chill out area).

Yes, there are sketchy types at Zone. You will either love it or hate it-there is no middle ground. There is also nothing in Toronto like it.

  • I've go to Comfort Zone about 4 times a month, and all I can say is sketchy, sketchy, sketchy. I have really mixed feelings about that place. First off the crowd is great, but every time I go there, it is more and more evident that everyone is a regular there and they all know eachother. To be frank, you need to know what your getting yourself into when you go there. It can be quite addictive, the music is hype and it's open for people who aren't quite done partying at 6 AM. There are a lot of party favours around but, from one of my own personal experineces, bring your own shit. Its very dark and hot there, but what w ould you expect for an after-hours place. Dress lightly and expect everyone to look like Barbie and Ken. One time in the woman's bathroom I overheard one chick say, 'I've only eaten Shake n' bake today cause I have no money." Another time one chick was OD'ing in the bathroom and begging me to punch her in the stomach so she could throw up whatever she was OD'ing on. Yet there have been times where I got too "G'" out along with my friends and total strangers have helped me out. And by the way if you take a little "too much" there is a room where you can go and the staff will help you get through it. (Thanks Paz!) So all and all you need to be prepared for some different types of activities and a different style of partying. Be open minded and a long with the great people and music hopefully you'll have more ups than downs there. Over all for that type of scene. 6 out of 10. Have fun and be safe, Honey

  • Comfort Zone is THE place to go after a night partying in TO. Great chill out type atmosphere in one room along with a deep underground appearance on the dancefloor, open till 3am so you can party as long as you need to. $20 for in and out, $15 one time with no in or out. party favors available, just look/ask around! : )
