We hit Distrikt on a Saturday night. The doormen were friendly and smiling and I can honestly say veterans. In this case my opinion could be biased as these guys have been doormen for as long as I’ve been clubbing and they are extra nice to familiar faces. The line was moving a bit slow however I think it’s due to the fact that in order to go for a smoke you need to go outside so those that were outside get in first for obvious reasons. I found it odd that they did this all from the front door and I think using a back entrance would be more efficient. The cashier seemed to not be too happy and the bouncer at the door by the cash gave off the feeling that his job felt more like a chore. The bouncers inside were discreet and not highly visible but you knew they were there. The bartender that served us did it with a smile and was very quick and efficient.

The club is “renovated” from its original state. I use the term loosely as the only reno’s that I saw were flat panel T.V’s behind the main bar and the former smoking room is gone. They have taken down the walls and made it into a large VIP area. The rest of the club is the exact same. For those whom have never been…You enter and walk down stairs there are 2 coat check booths which speed up the process. Immediately to your right is the first room which plays urban. Large bathrooms follow with plenty of stalls so you’re never kept waiting and a shared sink. Upstairs is the main room….a large room with 2 large bars. There is one on the right which has a giant rotating disco ball in the center and one on the left. The dance floor is large and spacious with elevated boxes on either end where females may dance when the crowd is not being entertained by various Go-go dancers or human statues. Also when you get upstairs you notice on the left an elevated area with a small bar…which was formerly the smoking area and is now a VIP section for bottle service. There are no bottle service tables available on or near the dance floor, this for some like myself is not favorable as you’re left secluded from the action.

The music downstairs was generic urban top 40…the music upstairs was generic Top 40 Dance, House, Pop and some urban. Nothing unique or exciting however it does definitely appeal to a strictly radio listening crowd. The mixes were good and none of the songs were cut short which I liked.

The crowd at Distrikt is 19-23. Downstairs is solely urban…so if you’re not into that scene then you might want to check out upstairs which is the Z 103 loving crowd at its best. Everyone was up dancing and having a great time. I did find a bit of annoyance by the fact that people would bump you with no apology and a bit of arrogance. A young crowd however if you fit into that age group it’s the place to be. I have seen fights there however with a younger crowd and alcohol involved I’ve come to expect it.
The Good: Customer service…no real problems
The Bad: My pet peeve they say they do major renos and they took down a wall!

- Went to Distrikt Nightclub the previous saturday and I have to say, not much has changed since to years ago. The club is a great place to go to
if you're looking for a good looking young crowd between the ages of 19-24. The music at Distrikt Nightclub is also great with Danny D spinning the best
in top 40, it's almost as if you're listening to Z103.5 without any commercials. Other then the long line up at Distrikt, I would definetely
go back to Distrikt Nightclub.

- I went last nite to Distrikt Nightclub, it was a Zoo. It was crazy.too many people, you couldn't even walk anywhere with anyone bumping into you, spilling their drink on you and burning you with there cigarette. It was bad. It was my first time there and my last. The music was amazing. They played a variety of music which was great. The crowd was a little immature, a lot of young guys, which is not good. More women then men which is usual at clubs, but the crowd was young.Basically the only thing I would change is the amount of people you let it, and maybe it would be good and hype it if was 21 and over, that way the crowd is mature, cuz a lot of 19 year olds everywhere, and that's when fights break out...
ps. music was great, would rate the music 9 out of 10.
As for the crowd, 4 out of 10... and overall... don't even have a rating for it, that's how bad it was...

- I found distrikt pretty cool, there were 5 of us who went adn we got there before 11 so we got in for free so that was sweet, but when we got there noone was there yet. It began to fill up around midnight and was packed by 1am. I found that there was still quite a bit of room to move around in but sometimes it seemed that it was crouded.
My friends and i were not quite sure where the other floor was so we kinda stayed on the main one thats upstairs past the bathrooms. the bathrooms were nice, clean and the attendant was very friendly and polite and wonderful to chat to while waiting for eachother.
drinks werent too expensive, sex on the beach ran 5.25 so it didnt break the bank. also didnt have to wait long at all to get served ever.....
LOTS OF HOT HOT HOT GUYS!!! ive never been to a club with so many great looking guys!!;) but there were a few creeps hanging around :S
security there was pretty intense, they kept walking through the dance floor and were standing around it so they showed there presence. where my friends and i were dancing all of a sudden about 6-7 security swarmed over to where we were like they were on a mission adn they were trying to break up a fight that was not even happening (2 friends were joking around) so they are alert and vigilant.
some of the crowd seemed a little immature, but the crowd was mainly in the early 20's, with some late 20 year olds hanging around....
the music was great, a lot of hip hop, some raegae, and top 40 stuff....mixing was kinda shitty...had some difficulties at some points throughout the night....some old stuff thatw as true club songs was awesome to hear :D
some of the younger looking girls (who were probably underage and had fakes) were dressed as white trash (looked like hookers)
and what was with the dancers they hired to pose on the speaker box??? they were just weird....
overall i rate Distrikt Nightclub a 8.5/10

- the only prob i found was that people didnt go to the smoking room to smoke they were all lighting up on the dance floor and it was getting ahrd to breathe by the end of the night.... Dancing C December 5, 2004 Heres my night at this club: Security is an issue...where were they all night no where......thats a little freaky...It was too expensive, it was too overated, and the music was terrible. I should have stayed home and put on a Z103.5 CD, cause thats all they played were 103.5 old beats, thats to tell ya how bad it was, the reggae music was from the early 90s...like comeon.. mix it a little or just advertise its strictly gino beats..don't play it for 20 minutes....and how many times do we have to here THE SONG I'M IN LOVE WITH A MAN NEARLY TWICE MY AGE???? its a good song..but man its finished....Drinks were too much...the bartenders were slow very slow...and it was a sausage fest in there with greasy GINOS.....SWEATING OFF THEIR CHEAP COLOGNE....guys we all know you're poor..quit playing the high roller....over all there are smoking ladies in there...but they have to learn how to dance first....whose the fool that lit up a joint on the dance floor? and the bouncers let it flow....

- Got downtown around 11 o, it was a warm night and their were alot of lurkers in the core. Headed to distrikt where there was a line in both the vip and regular lineup. Hooked up nicely with no line, no cover.
Walked in the washroom and some drunk guy was yapping so i talked to him and he passed me some free drink tickets. i was his new best friends for the time being. Headed upstairs and noticed the place wasnt rammed but starting to fill up nicely. Scope the scene out and the ratio of guys to girl was not that bad, where their were more guys than girls.
Proceed to start drinking where 2 rum n cokes and a bear costed something like 17 bucks which is not bad. Service was excellent and fast and drinks werent watered down. This is when the night began to blur. Top 40 music where they play all the club anthems and was a mix of everything. Crowd was fairly well dress but noticed some TPT trying to pull off wifebeaters with their 90 lbs frame.
Was moving around the whole club and chilled for a while in their smoking room, which is obviously packed. Only thing thats bad in here is the room is very cold, the fan are blowing at a high speed and which is understandable. Stumbled around back into the main floor and basically was phased for the rest of the night
Over 6/10, I'd go back once in a while to switch it up but not a regular bases

- My friends and I tried out Distrikt recently, and what a mistake that was. After waiting in line for ages and seeing any one who knew a Bouncer get in without any problems we were getting a bit upset. I don't want to come across cheap but for $20 cover this place better be nice and the service better be good. In terms of the lay out i was impressed but the Bouncers are rude and arrogant. The crowd was decent, but way too many pretentious people walking around. Dress code wasn't strictly enforced and those who were dressed up acted as if they were either millionaires or in some New York crime family. And that reminds me, what's up with people wearing sunglasses inside the club? Are you Cory Hart, do you wear your sunglasses at night? On the plus side there was a lot of attractive ladies there, though many carried themselves as if they are high powered porn stars. If you're into that look, then Distrikt is for you. Over all i'd have to say i won't go back any time soon, and i won't suggest it to any of my friends who are thinking of going.

- After much debate over what bar we would "try out" this weekend, my friends and I decided to give Distrikt a go! I must say that it was a VERY fine time! While the dress code didn't seem to be too enforced (some guys were wearing jeans) the crowd remained "sophisticated" and "chic." We arrived at around 10:30, and after a brief 5 minute wait in line, my 6 friends and I were admitted in for free thanks to B&A Promotions. (check out www.bawatchout.com for guestlist- otherwise cover is $20!!!) Bouncers were SUPER, efficient, and friendly- as were the bartenders. In terms of music, there are two rooms- the lower level plays more of the hip-hop, R&B stuff while the main room upstairs plays dance & house (VERY good music!!). People didn't really start dancing until around 11ish, but once the music got going, the club was RAMMED! Both rooms were having a blast! I'd say that the bar was just about full, and the crowd was still going strong when we left at 2:30. Contrary to other posts, I really didn't find the "stairs" (to move between the two rooms) a problem... The only incovenience was that there aren't washrooms on the second floor, which is a pain. The decor is very modern and beautiful, as is the gigantic disco ball!! Overall, a fantastic night! I am a skeptic when it comes to trying out new bars/clubs because I'm always afraid of being disappointed, but Distrikt certainly has lived up to its reputation! Classy & upscale, yet without "attitude." Definitely would recommend it, definitely will go back! I now see why it's one of T.O's HOTTEST clubs!!!

- Got to Distrikt around 12:20 and noticed that the regular line still had people lined-up. My buddy went over to the VIP line and talked to the guy and we got in a matter of seconds but we would still had to pay the 20 bucks cover to get in. Coatcheck is for free and it took less than 5 mintues to walk from the parking lot, to get in the club included search and coatcheck.
Walked into the bottom floor to the sounds of hip-hop and urban music which was alright. Heard your basic Jay-z, Kayne West, Lil John and Usher, decent set that got me moving.The crowd in this room was young meaning no one was over the age of 23, 24. Everyone was dressed good but i still saw some people wearing shirts and not collars. Good thing was there was no thugs in the room. On a different note, why do people pimp sunglasses in a club, do you think your cool cause you wear versace or armani eyewear, stop being posing like your something. Crowd was a mix of all races and there were alot of young girls lurking around, nice ratio. Went to the bar and waited quite a long time for to be served but that is expected cause their were alot of people, however you were able to walk around the room freely not bumping into people The quality of drinks was good, the rum and cokes werent watered down and were quite tasty. Chillied around for about 20 min and met up with my other buddies.
Headed up to the second floor, which was playing house music. Moving to the second floor was easy and we didnt wait in the stairwell like i read in previous posts. The crowd in here was different from the room below. A more european feel in the room. Room was full but you can still move around. This room looked like it had more guys than girls but the atmosphere was just better in here. Crowd looked older in here, some cougars were lurking around and id say the age in here was 21 and up. Everyone was dressed up and the crowd was overall good-looking in general. Typical house songs you hear on z1035 and is too quite fine. Music mixing was average, not good or not bad. Bartender in here was better, didnt have to wait that long, drinks were your typical Saturday night downtown price where 2 rum and cokes cost arough 11-12 bucks (do the math around 6 bucks) and they werent watered down. Bartender was good actually cause when i came around again, i was served quickly. Old house music was played around 1 45 till close and i noticed the crowd started to leave around 2 pm which really killed the atmoshphere. By 2 30 everyone had left and we decided to head out. Coat check was great meaning we only had to wait 2-3 minutes to get our coats cause its still cold in in the tunnel. Kudos to the the door staff and the coat check workers as well as the bartender on the second floor.
Overall, a decent night, i didnt have the time of my life and the club itself didnt put me over. It was decent music, got me moving but the music didnt blow me away. The atmosphere was good and everyone was having a good time and everyone seem polite. The crowd was a good-looking but ive seen alot of different races in the crowd.

- I went this past Saturday adn what a zoo it was. It was one of the busiest nights I've seen in a long time. That is actually a bad thing because you simply cannot move in this place. Good luck trying to move between the two floors.
I stayed mostly upstairs on the house music floor. I was a little disappointed that they played a very very long set of Hip Hop. I just wasn't in the mood for Hip Hop and wanted to hear only house beats.
The crowd as a little young and immature, I think they should consider setting a 21 and over policy. In terms of the amount of people they let in, I guess they are between a rock and a hard place because either they cut the capacity at the door and piss off a lot of people waiting to get in or they let so many people in that those that are inside start getting pissed off that they can't move. I think they need to find a happy medium but overall decrease the number of people getting in.
p.s. There were a lot of sexy girls
