- I went to the Drink on Saturday Nov 20, 2004
Parking was $15. Cover charge is $15. Coat check is $2.50. Yeah, you get my drift. The drinks prices are $7.25 for Rev and $6.50 for shots
I had not been back to The Drink in ages. Of course they've renovated the place and poured big money into it. I must say they did a really nice job with the decor. Everything is red and black. Looks really classy. The basic layout is the same as it's always been. They've added private VIP booths along one of the walls opposite the bar where the dance floor is. To sit in these VIP booths you are supposed to buy a bottle (in other words use their bottle service). There are big couches/seats on the opposite side of the floor in the lounge area that you can sit without having to have to buy a bottle.
Music was supplied by none other than DJs Manzone and Strong. As usual they did an excellent job with the track selection. It was all house music (I am surprised how many rocks songs have been remixed to have a house feel). I was loving it!
The crowd was stylin' and profilin'. Good looking crowd. I thought there was going to be a more strict dress code but there were some people wearing jeans and hats. I guess as long as they look stylish you should be ok. It was a bit of a more mature crowd and it was a fairly even ratio of guys-to-girls. People seemed to be really friendly... I was there with a big group of people and the girls started a limbo line in the middle of the dance floor. To my surprise a lot of people were digging it and having a blast with the whole thing. Good times. It got fairly busy around 11:30 and stayed that way until well past 2am.
Overall I had a great time (good music!) 10/10. The only draw back is that it can be a pricey evening.
I also went downstairs into the main room at Guvernment for a while. I always love it there... I think I enjoy people sketched out not having a care in the world. :) And of course Mark Oliver was doing an amazing job. His track selection has changed since the last time I went. It's more housey than trancey... in fact I heard several of the same songs played in the main room that were played in The Drink. It was a busy night and it was really hard to move around
I went into the Orange room for no more than 30 seconds. It was R&B, Hip Hop... I didn't enjoy this room. It was very busy, hot and stuff. Not to mention that for the 30 seconds that I was there I nearly got trampled on by about 20 bouncers who converged in the Orange Room after a fight broke out. I am sure that the fight in this room was just a coincidence though. ;-)

- D'luxe(gov) review Jun 19th
well i hit this place since we had invites to a party that was going on in there
got there around 11:30, no line get in with no probs
just going up the stairs we get greeted by this barbie doll, honeslty fuck blond hair, big boobs, skuiky voice, skinny ass body, like wow, anyways get upstairs and its a pretty good looking crowd in there top 40 music, but hot hot hot girls, looks like a pretty happening place, its a smoking room which sucks but the crowd made it worth it
we chill around untill the line out of that room and into the gov cooled down and then hit the drink
the drink was happening like always but like always the stuck up broad attitude in there
we eventually made our way to the sky bar which was packed as usual, but wasnt the warmest of nights and htey dont have heaters on the roof so we ditched and went to the main room
we were going to check out the orange room, but as we were walking into that room you can only smell the warm stench of body odor coming out so we took a detour into charlies lounge which was dead and then went back up to D'luxe which had cooled down, we chilled in there and it then got super packed again
overall good night, 7/10

- its was a friend's gf's b-day so we headed to the drink at the guv.
I have to say the Manzone and Strong never cease to amaze me, we spent alot of time upstairs at the drink, but also checked out the main room, and acid lounge.
The group also wanted to checkout the Orange room which I must say i'm enjoying verymuch. little attitude and everyone looking to have a good time.
The guv was packed and there was really no room to move upstairs at the Drink.
on a personal note, I hate smoking in clubs. all my clothes and hair reek of smoke. city council should enact the no-smoking law inside even sooner
Overall, 9/10

- GoldClub/Drink Review
11:30 GoldClub is rammed outside, we waited about 15 minutes and we all walked in...pretty big group....
Goldclub was rammed, lots of good looking people, descent vibe. Music is great, RamyvsDAvid are always playing their style which is cool with me. Lots of people dancing around. One problem: attitude. I can't stress this enough, for the boys and girls, if you are too cool to go out and have fun, stay home.
Drink even more rammed. Manzone&Strong are the sickest dj's in toronto; played amazing music all nite (lots of remixs i noticed), great time in there. Again...LOTS of good looking people, but same attitude.
I dont know, the thing with the drink/goldclub:
#1, you know 1/2 the people in the place
#2, the half you don't know are snobby bitches, and dude/bud guys that you see at every other ZRF event....
#3, between shaking hands and double kissing, and walking through traffic (dodging people), you will look at your watch and realize its already 2:30.
I dont know last nite I wasn't feeling it, but i would definetly suggest this place to friends......so many beautiful GIRLS!!!
