  • Metro Nightclub on Friday live to Air from Z103.5 has to be one of the best nightclubs on a Friday. Metro Nightclub is packed with over 1000 people, the crowd is a good looking crowd, the music is obviously great and the customer service is also great!! The only problem with Metro nightclub is the line up at the club, other then that, it's the perfect place to be on a Friday Night.

My overall rating of Metro Nightclub, 9/10.

  • Decided to check out Metro Nightclub this past Friday because we kept hearing those stupid ads on the radio, "Metro on a friday night, hammer danny, Metro on a Friday night"... First the line up, I have to agree with the other reviews on metro nightclub on this one, there probably is more people outside then inside. Metro nightclub is known for holding its line up even on New Year's when they had over 100 people waiting outside even though they had purchased their tickets!! The music at Metro Nightclub is exactly what you would expect, top 40 from Z103.5 and the crowd looks like a bunch of ginos between the ages of 19-25. The bar service at Metro is okay, nothing to write home to mom aboutl.

My overall rating of Metro Nightclub, 7/10.

  • I just have one question for the management at Metro Nightclub, why are there more people outside in line then inside?! So we arrived at the Metro at 11 and did not get in until 11:45, and wow what a surprise, it wasn't busy inside. If you were driving by, you would have thought it was the busiest club in Toronto, but then again, I guess that's what they want you to think.

The interior at Metro is pretty nice with really fasionable white booths. It's got 3 large rooms, all with their own style of music!! The crowd however was seemed to be really young girls dancing on several poles. There is little diversity at Metro with most of the clubbers being white and 19-24.

I wouldn't go back but if you're into young girls dancing on poles and waiting in line for 45 minutes, don't let me stop you.

Customer Service for Metro Nightclub Rating 3.5/5

I’d say the Customer Service at Metro is average, and can be a bit intimidating as they do have cops patrolling the front doors every night. The bouncers are typical, they don’t care for chit chat and are there to do their job. What I don’t appreciate is if you stop for a moment to a question they yell for you to keep moving. This is my pet peeve, because last time I checked no nightclubs owned the sidewalk! And if you want people to move you ask them you don’t yell at them. They will not let you in if you give them attitude (no club would) and if you’re not dressed in appropriate attire, meaning no ripped jeans and no beat up sneakers. Style code is in effect as is with most night clubs.

Interior for Metro Nightclub Rating 3.5/5

There are 2 floors to the club and in essence 4 rooms, but only 2 different sounds. You walk into the club which is the main room. There’s a large bar right away on your right, seating area in the front, and elevated stage for people to dance. The next room holds the restrooms and the DJ as well as another 2 bars. Dividing the 2 rooms is a large stair case which brings you up stairs. The first room is just a room with a bar. In the second room there are 3 bars and this is where you get to play voyeur. It’s more loungey in this room and you can look down to the crowd below you and again on this floor there is limited seating area. The décor through out the club is very hard and strong not really industrial more just cold white and steel. There was no patio which I personally think is essential to every Toronto night club. I found it to be very hot and sticky inside, they need to crank that AC a bit more!

Music for Metro Nightclub Rating 5/5

Friday nights are live to air on z 103.5 with Matt “The Hammer” and DJ Danny D. The music in the main room is pretty much Top 40 dance, hip hop a bit of house…pretty much a bit of everything to please the crowd. In the smaller room mainly urban. There was a bit of everything to please everyone.

Crowd for Metro Nightclub Rating 4/5

The crowd is 19-25.…just getting into the party scene and looking to get wasted.

It’s a good place if you are young and looking to party hard. A bit too young for my flavour but if you fall in that age group you’ll enjoy it.

The Good: Drinks and cover are reasonable. Cover is $10 unless you’re on guest list which closes at 11:30. Drinks are average priced approx. $5.50

The Bad: They really need to crank that AC

    Overall 3.75 for Metro Nightclub

  • Metro Nightclub in Toronto has to be worst club I've been too in a while. The bouncers at Metro Nightclub are rude, the bartenders are slow and the music is horrible. The dj at Metro Nightclub for some odd reason played a lot of latin music when it was evident that people just weren't into it. As for the drinks at Metro Nightclub, they're expensive and watered down. Metro Nightclub is a club that is not be checked out, wouldn't go back. My overall rating of Metro Nightclub, 8/10.

  • So me and some friends decide to check out Metro Nightclub (Saturday May 14th) and see what all the talk is about. Parking across the street was $25 and you cant even find a spot. At 11:30 the line was big but nothing to be scared about. We ran into the bouncer with the bun which everyone seems to mention in their reviews. Great guy and let us skip the line (and no we're not girls either). So things seemed to start off pretty well. Cover charge was a whopping $15 which seems a little high for 19+. After we walked inside we found out why they are charging that much. The club was RAMMED. I mean overcapacity rammed. You absolutely could not move which was brutal. You're walking sideways the entire night, the amount of people made it unbearable. I bought a beer for $7 not including tip which also seems high for a club I paid $15 to get in. The club is also hot as hell. My first thoughts of the night were "why is this club so popular?".

I thought maybe it was the music... nope. We heard house music for maybe 5 minutes. There was atleast 2 rooms. Both rooms played top 40 r&b and hip hop for almost the entire time we were there. The mixing was complete garbage upstairs. It was filled with missed attempts and stop and play. The main room wasn't as bad.

The crowd is mostly guys, but I wouldn't call it a sausage fest either. Everyone seems pretty young. Everyone is dressed nicely though. Its made up of all kinds of people, youre not going to feel like you dont belong. The bouncers greeted us as we left. Everyone seems to rag on them but they were the only highlight of Metro that night. Conclusion, the club is WAY overhyped. I would never go again. Theres just no reason to go. Youre constantly get nudged at all night, people behind you are pushing you to move forward. NO ONE is dancing because there is NO ROOM to dance. You feel like youre in a clown car the whole night. The music was brutal, no variety in a club with more than 1 room. I just couldn't see what all the hype was about. You get the feeling the club is milking its popularity at the moment as much as they can.

  • It was a Saturday night and my friends and I checked out Metro Nightclub. Came from Hamilton to see some friends and decided to check out Metro for the first time since it sounded great to go early enough, be on guestlist and pay no cover. After waiting in line for about 45 minutes in the freezing cold rain, and paying $25 for parking, an ugly bouncer with a bun in his hair asked us ladies who we were with. Once we mentioned guys, he walked away and that was that. We finally get in. We were told we had to pay a cover charge of $15.00...What was the point in guestlist if I had to pay. Apparently you have to ask for a pass and go through a million things in order not to pay. THEN, we walk in, bouncers are pushy and won't let you stand in one spot for more than a second. Ok, so we decide to get a drink before anything. $7 for imported beer, $8.50 for Rev's, etc it keeps going...insane. Ok so we were not impressed whatsoever and made sure everyone knew how horrible this club was. I'll be sure never to return again. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!

  • We went on saturday to Metro Nightclub.. if your a guy your waiting in line.. if your a hot girl.. you'll prolly be let in by one of the promoters, but if your with guys, they'll just keep walking.. 15 bucks for guest listers.. girls or guys! drinks are expensive.. rude bouncers, rude bartenders.. crowd is young.. and music sucked and a bouncer yelling @ your ass to move cause they don’t have enough space for people.. than definitely go here! oh and get ready for $25 parking right across!

  • I was having a good day till i parked my car, in an expensive $25 lot. I made about 45 circles and nearly puked before parking and finding a spot. We walked up the lot to find out there was a lineup like down the block, now this is okay if the weather is great and i could sit on a lawn chair. But it was freezing rain and the line didnt move for about 20 minutes, not to mention the buddy who thought he was arnold and his friend in buns coming down the line and yelling at the top of their lungs to stay in a straight line as if we were a cadet. After a torturous 45 minutes we got in, and now they told us we had to pay after being on the guest list which obviously had no value in this club. I was confused most of the night which music to listen to because i could hear both sides of the room. I finally made it to the top floor and it felt that there was 600 people in a sauna room. The bouncers who had no class in the way they looked or treated people, continuosly popped out of no where to instruct us to not stand anywhere we tried to stand in the club! Bartenders will take their own tips without offering you to give it to them, and we have never met them before. The dj played crappy music going up and down from dance and hip hop, couldnt make up their mind....

  • Headed downtown around 11 pm, downtown core seemed more quiet than usual. Debating whether to go to distrikt or metro.

Headed over to Metro and both lines were in a messy state. Thanksfully my buddy knew someone and we were in a matter of 30 seconds with free passes. Kudos has to go out to the doorman for the huge hookup.

Place was nicely packed upon entry to the club. Able to move around and walk freely throughout the club. Chilled on the west room for a bit and said hi to a few people. Music was house music, top 40 and a bit of hip hop, thrown in with classic rap through out the night. Crowd in this room was a european crowd, 20- 25., stylish dress crowd. A good looking crowd in general

Headed to the east room where the music was hip-hop, with a set of top 40 and house thrown in. Crowd here was more diverse in this room, some wannabe thugs were lurking etc etc. Good music in this room, got me moving around a bit. Drinks were reasonably price with the downtown standard and service was good

Place got rammed around 12 30 where it became a bitch to move around the club. The East room (top and bottom floor) gets packed and way too hot. Club started to die out around 2- 215.

Overall a good night, not as packed as it was during the opening weeks but still good

    7/10 for Metro Nightclub

    Pros: Hookups, Music, Atmosphere

Con: Coatcheck took forever to get at the end of the night, gotta do something about it

Ya i would go back to Metro Nightclub

  • Got there around 11:15pm...I have a few things to say about Metro Nightclub.

    1) looks like another one of those clubs that "wants" to cater to the classy and posh crowd - but failed - the crowd was young. Majority were 19-21. There were some older crowd but mostly hanging out at the VIP area

    2) bouncers and the guestlist lady full of attitude, but I don't blame them, all those people waiting outside gave them the power and control, since EVERYBODY wanted to go inside

    3) $15 to get in - honestly, I don't see why it's worth that much, the inside is not that great. The VIP area takes up most of the dance space, and the other room is just white, the decor was bland. nothing spectacular.

    4) the music was ok (I went on a sat nite), nothing special, played the popular hits like every other club

I guess overall, I'd give it a 6.5-7 out of 10. To me, it was just like any other regular "posh" wannabe club. Not that it was entirely bad, but it was that special either. If you care able to get a VIP table (to avoid the ridiculous crowd) and manage to get at least somewhat tipsy, I guess you could have a good time there.

HOWEVER - there are some things that really really bothered me about this club and they are reasons enough that I will never initiate to go back there again...

    1) they let waaaaaaaaay too many people in. It was clearly over capacity. And if you are unlucky and are caught in a fire, chances of you surviving is slim. Good luck trying to escape.

    2) they didn't even pat down anyone!! (well, at least me and 5 other ppl who I went with didn't get patted down or checked). You'd think they'd learn about ignorant people with weapons and the shootings after G Spot was shut down. Their security system just doesn't seem very safe. They let ppl up and down the stairs with drinks in their hands. The side stairs are unsupervised, bottom line is I didn't feel safe in that place.

Well, I guess that was my two cents.

  • I checked out Metro Night Club last night (Saturday February 26th 2005) for the first time and I was impressed to say the least. I called B&A guest list hotline like requested before 7pm and got to Metro at 10pm as I was downtown pretty early due to a dinner party. The line was huge!! At 10pm?? Um ok. BIG UP to Rob for never forgeting a face, not even asking if I was on the guest list or not and handing me some ticket to walk right in the middle. The 2 lines on ether side were HUGE. All the bouncers at the door and the cash girl were very nice and quick at moving everyone in. One thing I did not like right off the bat is having to go upstairs to pay/give free ticket to have to go downstairs to check your jacket to have to go right back up to get back to where you started sort of thing. To the defense of Metro though that is how it was when it was G Spot. Was not that much of a pain. Katya & I had hosted some Sat Nights back in day at G Spot and I was kinda expecting to see Metro pretty much looking the same but man was I wrong. Right when you walk in you feel like your in a whole new club, new vibe, new everything. Moses (owner) was walking around greeting everyone as it was packing up fast. Keep in mind this is now 10:05pm lol Billy from B&A saw us bought my friend & I drinks gave us all the information about Metro, the style etc and we were very impressed. He also teased us with a new Friday Night for B&A even though he would not let on the spot. The variety of music was perfect. Loved the retro I heard at begining of the night in main room. I am a sucker for Retro so if I hear that the vibe is there for me. Drink prices were reasonable and the bartenders HOT. Many bartenders who I knew from other clubs like Tonic etc - It was like they picked the hot bartender from each other club and stuck them at Metro. I loved all the cool spots to sit for bottle service etc. The bottom line about Metro is this. This is not G Spot with some paint on it. If you have went to G Spot before and have your doubts about how this place will look, the crowd etc. Don't. It was stunning. The crowd was hot, the music was amazing, and the look of Metro was like a nightclub should look.

Great Job Moses, Thank you B&A for Metro Nightclub

  • Yea it was pretty nuts. We got there at 11:30 because we went to a bday, and i thought it looked insane from the outside. Luckily, we got in pretty quickly and didnt have to wait in line. What the hell was up with the sidewalks, everyone was slipping everywhere. It was so packed, holy shit. In pretty much every single room too. Which room is the white room, its the one on the first floor, where the lights change a colour every couple minutes? (That room was so gross, a fuckin sauna) LOL, if so, i hated that room. I thought it was waaay to hot. Most of them were too hot to think of it.. I like the layout, but never went to G Spot. So, i thought it was pretty nice. I heard from some that it looks nice/very different. And others, it almost looks the same, so nothing special. I thought those booths were cheesy, like right in the middle of the floor? They cause a lot of traffic too. As for the drinks, is it just me or did they seem really watered down. I never had drinks like that before, i couldn't taste any alcohol, lol. The music was good, all rooms seemed to play a bit of everything in my opinion from what i noticed.

I'd go back earlier though. It's going to be packed for a while, so i wouldn't go back on a saturday to often either lol.

    I will give Metro Nightclub a 3/5
