Chronixx concert 28/04/2017
submitted by machael shaikh for Rebel on April 29, 2017
To whom & it may concern,
I have just returned home from the chronixx concert at rebel nightclub. It is with such disappointment that i write to question the conduct & professionalism of the security staff.
My girlfriend purchased tickets for the chronixx concert as a gift for me for christmas. After months of anticipation, tonight was the night i'd been waiting for, however, it was a complete disaster, primarily because of the unprofessional, aggressive security staff that are a total disgrace & liability to the term of "security". If you do a direct definition search of the word '"security", surely the behaviour of the staff tonight doesn't present itself.
Myself and my girlfriend arrived at approximately 9pm, we had vip tickets which enabled us access to the balcony. (at no time was there any given warning or announcement that we'd soon have to vacate the vip area because somebody chose to have bottle service). Nowhere in rebel's tariff, does it state that customers who purchase vip tickets will be dismissed due to another persons bottle service request?! My self and my girlfriend, as well as another couple were forced out of the vip area and told to stand at the back of the venue, with a very minimal view of the stage. We had paid premium prices for the concert but were yet left with a poor view of the stage.
In addition, there was another couple who were literally manhandled because they refused to relocate to another viewing position. Please keep in mind that one of the women involved as actually pregnant, yet the security staff took the liberty to physically manhandle the partner of the woman in an attempt to exclude him. Overall it was a disaster. Unprofessional and an utter disgrace.
I am writing to merely address the conduct and professionalism of the security staff, as well as the clarity that should be given to customers who choose to purchase vip tickets.
